KUALA LUMPUR: Three Bangladeshi workers were seriously injured from what sources claim was an explosion at a Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station construction site in Bandar Malaysia this evening.

According to a Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) source, the incident at 5pm caused two of the three workers to have their legs severed.

Another worker injured his hands and legs and the three were rushed to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment.

He said a total of 25 officers and personnel with five fire engines from the Hang Tuah, Pudu and Tun Razak stations went to the location.

A Bernama observation at the scene found a police Dog Unit team with a JBPM Hazardous Material (Hazmat) squad still at the location investigating the cause of the blast.
